I felt like I was trying everything for weight loss until…
I felt like I was trying everything for weight loss. I did every calorie counting, meal prep, every elimination diet you can think of, and nothing was sustainable. I was tired, hungry, bloated and so frustrated that I couldn’t lose the weight.
Then one day I realized I was approaching weight loss backwards. I was trying to lose weight with no real strategy. I was just cutting calories in hopes I would see the scale decrease in the next few weeks. In other words, I restricted calories without ever finding out WHY I gained weight in the first place. This is key for having a successful weight loss phase.
I know every “bro at the gym” will argue with me that weight gain is only from too many calories, but there is so much more to that story. Yes, if we eat more calories than our body needs, we will gain weight. However, there are so many things that impact our ability to regulate appetite, promote muscle production, spark motivation and balance hormones, and all of these processes impact the body’s ability to lose weight.
That’s why weight loss needs to be seen as a symptom instead of a problem.
Here are the top reasons for weight loss resistance (I see this with clients each week)
Thyroid issues
Gut infections
Low minerals
High estrogen
Inflammation
Medications
Adrenal Dysfunction
Burnout
Addressing these issues to their core allows us to create a weight loss strategy for YOUR body’s needs and being able to do implement the strategy without being hungry all the time.
