How to make your gut feel awesome

For most clients, the root cause of their gut probs is related to their thyroid. Remember, your thyroid is the master of your metabolism and the pace of it sets the pace for your gut. 

So if you have a slow thyroid → Slow metabolism → Slow gut

 And thennnn a slow gut creates an environment for bacteria to grow, food doesn’t get fully digested, gas produces etc. etc. 

Of course, my favorite is to test your thyroid and your gut in my coaching program, but there are things you can do today to start feeling better. 

 

So here are 3 ways to make your stomach feel AWESOME!

  • Slowwww down your meals

    • Eating fast increases your stress hormones and decreases actual digestion. So the food isn’t breaking down fully and causing problems.

    • Your stress hormone is called, cortisol. This hormone is great for energy, but in high amounts it can lead to weight gain, brain fog and depleted minerals.

  • Get more B12

    • Eat more dairy, meat and seafood. If you are vegetarian, you may need to supplement. If you do eat meat and are low in b12, you probably have gut inflammation!

    • B12 is important for metabolism, energy and healthy ovulation.

  • Eat more salt

    • Surprised??? I promise it helps! I’m not saying you should eat a ton of processed foods, but I am saying to add salt to the foods you prepare from scratch! Salt is a source of sodium, which is a mineral you NEED for proper gut health.

    • I recommend Celtic or sea salt to put on your foods!
