2) Skipping Meals Because it Feels Good
Have you ever felt that 'high' in the morning when you dive into work, to do list or maybe a workout? Yeah, that is adrenaline. It's an amazing thing, but we are only meant to live on adrenaline for short periods of time. We are not meant to survive on it. This will chronically elevate cortisol and eventually burnout your adrenals & energy.
3) Afternoon Energy Dips
When we wake up in the morning, cortisol rises to boost our energy. It naturally falls throughout the day so it's normal to not feel AS energized in the afternoon, but it shouldn't feel like you a hit a wall. You need steady fuel, good sleep and minerals to help sustain energy.
4) Can’t Get Through Workouts
This may be one of the first signs of burnout. Exercise is pretty low on the priority list for the body when the adrenals & thyroid are slowing down (and you'll feel the fatigue from it). Don't forget exercise is a stressor so even though it has benefits, if the body is run down it will not be able to perform as well during workouts.
5) Waking Up in the Middle of the Night
This one may seem obvious because duh if you're not getting good sleep you will evenetually burnout. BUT I love to point out that this is also a sign of not eating enough in the day (another reason for burnout) and the liver is like HELLO, I need more fuel! People will often ignore this hunger pain because it's bad to eat after 10pm. That is true unless you didn't eat enough before 10pm
